Please be advised that the Repeater Committee has made some changes to the repeaters as follows:
- VE7TSI (147.18 +600) has been relocated to Mt. Dufferin. This is a Yaesu Fusion repeater and it has been configured to operate in both Analog FM and Digital C4FM (Fusion) modes. WIRES-X Node #33826 is now available through this repeater. A PL tone of 100 Hz is necessary to access VE7TSI in Analog FM mode. Please update your radios accordingly.
- VE7FUS (Coach Hill) is off the air indefinitely. The repeater hardware has been relocated to Greenstone Mountain.
- VE7RKA (Greenstone Mountain) was off the air for the past several weeks due to an undiagnosed hardware issue. The VE7FUS hardware has now been relocated to Greenstone and reprogrammed to behave as VE7RKA on 146.96 (-600). Like VE7TSI, it operates in both Analog FM and Digital C4FM (Fusion) and requires a PL tone of 100 Hz to access it in Analog FM mode. There is no WiresX connectivity from VE7RKA at this time, however, as the WiresX node hardware is connected to VE7TSI (Dufferin). Please revise your radio's programming to include the 100 Hz tone!
As noted above, both Dufferin and Greenstone now require a PL tone of 100 Hz to be accessed in analog FM mode. Both have also been configured to transmit a 100 Hz tone too, so that you can program your radio (if the function is available on your rig) to open the squelch only for the PL tone. This will prevent you from hearing the 'noise' that is C4FM digital. At this point it's not clear how many users will choose to use C4FM and how many will stick with Analog FM, so how important receive PL tone squelch will be for analog users remains to be seen.
Please give both of these repeaters some use and let's see how their coverage footprints look!
