Reminder: KARC Greenstone Mountain Summer Picnic

Sun, August 30 from 10:00 to 14:00

Please mark August 30 (Sunday) in your calendar for a KARC summer picnic, tour of the VE7RKA repeater site, and visit to the old forestry lookout on Greenstone Mountain.

Bring a lunch, hike up to the old forestry lookout for a fantastic view of the Kamloops area, check out the VE7RKA repeater shack, or just spend some time visiting (keep that social distance!) with your ham friends.

Here are some links so you can get an idea of what to expect, and how to get there.

Unless you have a sturdy 4x4, it is best to park near the Telus site (the big building with the big tower on your right when you get to the top) and walk in to the repeater or up to the forestry lookout.  The road to the top of Greenstone is a gravel road, passable by car although it can be a bit rough in some places.  If you are coming from Kamloops head out towards Cherry Creek and turn left onto the Greenstone Road, and stay left when you get to the fork that takes you to Duffy Lake.

If you have any questions, or need directions, please give me a shout.  Looking forward to seeing you on August 30!

Myles, VE7FSR
